"He has made me glad" is the theme promoted by our Children's Ministry at First Baptist church. The theme expresses the enthusiasm and excitement we have about being a part of the family of God, and about being in God's house for Sunday School, Worship Services, Children's Choir and AWANA Club. Our goal is to enhance the spiritual growth of our children through weekly scheduled programs, mission emphasis and projects, and special events and activities throughout the year. Our Children's Ministry exists for one purpose - for children to know, love and follow God. It's as simple as Deuteronomy 6:5. Our goal is to: H ---- Hearts I ------ Into L - Life-long D - Disciples
Our Children's Ministry also offers some special activities throughout the year. One ministry we are especially excited about is Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for first though sixth graders. The season begins in January and runs through March. Children in fourth though sixth grades are invited to attend our annual Pre-Teen Disciple Now Camp held during the spring. And for children, who have completed third though sixth grades may go to Pre-Teen Camp which is held in July. We are always looking for volunteers to serve in the various areas of the Children's Ministry. Whether it be listening to children say their AWANA verses or coaching/refereeing Upward basketball games we invite you to become involved in the exciting ministries here at FBC! Our Mission at First baptist Church is to provide a safe, secure, Christ centered environment of teaching and nurturing. We focus on providing a well planned, age appropriate Bible study where we allow each child to learn and build a relationship with caring teachers. We provide different ministry opportunities to help achieve this. Whether it be in Sunday School, AWANA Cubbies, or S.K.I.P., children are surrounded by the love of Christ as they learn and grow toward becoming all that Christ created them to be. Preschool Sunday School is for infants thru Kindergarten. It is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Our Preschool Ministry provides extended care while parents are attending church services. On Sunday mornings we offer exteded care for infants thru Pre-K. Sunday nights we offer care for infants thru Kindergarten. AWANA Club is for 3 year olds through sixth graders - Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Child care is provided at this time for birth through three year olds for children whose parents work in the AWANA program.Click here for more info. Mother's Day Out-Infant through Pre-K Mother's Day Out is a ministry designed to give busy mothers a day to leave their children in the care of "God loving" workers while they catch up on shopping, errands or just relaxing.
