How to Become a Christian

We often come to crossroads in our lives -- Intersection points, if you will, where we have decisions to make.

One of the most important decisions we can make is whether or not to follow Jesus Christ. You see, although Jesus came to save all men and women, not all men and women are saved. Jesus died for all, but only those who would believe in Him as Savior obtain salvation.

Now, why do we need saving, anyway? In a word, sin. Sin is rebellion against God by going against God's will. Romans 3:23 tells us, "...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Death is the penalty of sin, as we know from Romans 6:23, "...the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

But, God is merciful, and sent Jesus to do what we could not -- Bring about our salvation. Romans 5:8 says:

"But God demonstrates His
own love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us."

Our own works could not atone for our sins. The price of blood had to be paid, and Jesus paid that price.
